I have a Bushmaster Varmint Special that currently wears a Vari-X II 4-12x40. This scope's generous eye relief makes it a challenge to get it mounted far enough forward, and the variation in relief at different magnifications only "magnifies" the problem. Since the .223 recoil is quite low, I'm thinking of changing to a scope with less, and if possible constant eye relief. The Leupold spec is for 3.7-4.7". Any idea on what scope would be an improvement?
