MOOSE BEWARE , NEW BIG PILLS FOR THE 500 SMITH

Finished up another batch of 700gr WFNGC bullets for my Smith PC Hunter . What a wallop when you launch one down range . When the cylinder is full of the 700gr it is quite impressive and a little extra weight  :shock: A friend of mine bought the last batch of 575gr WFNGC and had the same results I did at 100 yards , he's in the process of testing a few of the 700gr . I am loading them with 25gr of WC820 vel 1100 and 29.2gr of IMR4198 vel 1033 , not to shabby . I use 33.5gr of LIL Gun vel 1442 for the 575gr with great results . Moose season starts in a couple of weeks , will hopefuly use a 700gr on one , I will and try to retrive the bullet if it does not go through it. Shoot straight .

You are not kidding about those 575 gr. pills I got. I busted my Hogue grips on my second 50 rounds of firing the BFR. I had to put the factory grip back on my BFR 500MAG. I have to work up a better load. I had about 2 1/2 inch groups at 25 yards. I Would still like to try some of those 700 gr. pills also.  :D

700 grs?  Wow. Not sure I'd like to touch one off, but I would like to see one. Is there a website that shows a picture of the bullets? Where did you get them?

Yep checked my list you were on it , keep an eye out for them .

Yep I do have a few pictures posted over on HANDLOADS.COM , Look under Big Pills for the Smith , it is either on the reloading or revolver thread not sure . The first picture will be a stack of 700gr with one lonely 44mag 230gr  , the second picture will be a 700gr,575gr,44mag 230gr,575gr,700gr . The mould is a aluminum double cavity 700gr gc WFNGC bullet and it drains a 20 pound pot fast.

Dan at mountain moulds makes some impresive great craftmanship moulds and at a great price. Thanks Dan
