i finally was able to get to walmart to order my sons birthday present. :lol: the local walmart made it a bit difficult to order, because they said that i would have to come in on a weekday between 8 and 4. :eek: i finally told the kid that i cannot come during work. he left a note for the day mgr. she checked stock, called and said that i could come in in the evening and order on layaway. good thing that his b-day isnt until august.....

Good luck, Fling. My Walmart Special order experiences have been less than satisfactory. At least you have a few weeks to hunt up some shells.

It's a great starter gun. Both you and your kid will enjoy it.

You can check to see if it is in stock at sports south (the warehouse that there NEF gun come from) yourself on their website. I found it by looking up sports south through google then following the link to their catalog. If your interested in something other than H&R/nef just look at the walmart special order catalog to see the distrubutor they use for that brand. I printed out the page for the versapac combo I just ordered and had to talk the some teenager through the whole process but the end result was 35% cheaper than my usual source. Hope your boy enjoys that gun. Cant wait till mine is old enough.

well, i took my son out this morning for his birthday with his new .28
it went ok. the recoils was a bit much for him, and i didnt want to push him. i will order a pad to put under his shirt and try to locate some .28 to .410 gauge inserts. i dont want to spook, ya know.

Unless you can find a used .410 that fits and/or fit it yourself it might be just as cheap to buy another Pardner in .410. Since the new added charges the cost of buying additional barrels has jumped up considerably..... Perhaps look for a used .410, that would be cheaper than getting a new additional barrel fitted and he would have 2 guns or you could shoot the NEF single shots together!!!....<><.... :grin:
