77 MKII in .204 Ruger
« on: August 06, 2004, 07:08:30 PM »
Finally broke down and picked up a stainless/synthetic compact in .204 Ruger.  I compared it in the store to the Remington 700 ADL and a Savage.  The workmanship on the Ruger was definitely above the others.  The magazine follower on the Remington looked like stamped sheet steel and the Savage stock looked like something out of my kids plastic model kits.  The Savage AccuTrigger was real nice, but a quick trigger job on the 77 should bring it up to speed.  I can't wait to get the scope mounted and give it a workout.  Has anybody else given these a try?

Congrats!!! I have never shot a .204 but I do have a M77 7mag and what you said about the ruggedness and craftmanship of the Ruger M77 is true(accurate too)...I have been seriously thinking about getting a M77 in .204 so please post back here with your findings...I anticipate learning how you feel about the HOT 20cal.
