If it is in good condition, cycles fine and has no other problems I would not tear it down.  I just do not believe in tearing things down just to check things out.

Yep, I second that. Unless it's super dirty or you're just bored just leave it together and go shootin'!

If it's functioning properly, DO NOT have it torn down.  There are a literally thousands of pre-war model 94's that still see every single deer season, that have never had a single thing done to them.  "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it".  Tearing down a gun, just for the sake of tearing it down is a bad idea!

There's no reason to tear that rifle down, if you're not seeing any problems.  To the best of my knowledge, my great-grandfather's model 94 has only been taken apart once, and it still works every hunting season.  I may cringe at the "neglect" that this old rifle sees, but it's hard to argue about it when the darn thing just keeps working every time my dad takes it out of the closet.  Reliability is one of the great things about classic lever guns, IMHO.

Doubt you need to tear it down

I doubt you need to tear it down.  I have a '94 that is over thirty years old (and that is hardly old compared to some) that shoots just fine.  Unless you suspect that there is some mechanical malfunction or that it is for some reason dangerous to shoot I'd leave it alone and go shootin'   :D
