I just fish cats on the Red River of the North. North of Fargo ND. This is a channel cat fishery only. We use a small boat and anchor above visable snags.(down and tangled trees) then cast back as close to the snags as we can get. I use an egg sinker above a leader sanp the a 16-20 inch leader and a 4 0 hook. Usually a bait holder hook. We use cut up suckers or bullheads but any fresh cut piece of fish or meat will work. Frogs work great in late summer.
