What is the largest calibre cartridge for the TC?
Any guns set up for .60 cal?

I believe, and I may be wrong, that any modern production handgun over .50 is considered a "destructive device" by our leetle friends at the BATFE.

Am I correct?

I believe that any cartridge used in a rifled barrel in the USA (except shotguns) must shoot a projectile no bigger than a nominal 50 caliber - .58 inches in diameter. In Washington state any weapon shooting a projectile larger than the .58" is considered a "class three" weapon and is forbidden for possession, ownership and control with the borders of this State.

Doesn't that apply only to pistols? I remeber read in COTW about the .50 AE originally broke the rules at .510". You can purchase rifles like the .577 Tyranosaur though, can't you?

Any LEO's out there with knowledge about this?

The original 50AE did have a bore of .510, it was changed before it went to market though, since it would have been a class III. For guns like the 577, 600 nitro and 700 nitro the manufacture applies for and usually receives a calss III exemption. That's why you can buy them.

The 500 Linebaugh cartridges are all 510, and the 50-70 750 and 50 alaskan barrels JD Jones does are also 510. No problems there, but they may have gotten an exemption some time in the past...

I also remember JD making a 585 jdj blackpowder cartridge for the contender, but don't know for sure if it was in a handgun length.
