Remington 504 .22
« on: August 15, 2004, 05:34:18 AM »
Anybody have one of these yet?
I'm hearing and reading wildly conflicting stories about the quality, finish, accuracy and reliability of them.

Thanks,

My cousin bought one and I think it is GREAT myself. When he received it the trigger was rather "creepy" but for $30 his gunsmith fixed him up. the trigger breaks crisp at 3lbs.(after adjustment)(I looked at one the other day and the trigger didn't creep at all, don't know what thats about???) The average accuracy across all ammunition types are more than acceptable. We never actually measured the groups but we didnt have any trouble shooting tops off bottles at 50yrds and was eating cans up at 100yrds with CCI Stingers.  The 504 is rather expensive but If I was wanting a new well made rimfire I would grab one in a second.

I agree with you there. It is a bit expensive for my budget, but it would be another Remington in the gun cabinet. Heck, I might even sell my Savage Mark II to help pay the bill  :)

I had the opportunity to handle two 504 Remington rifles on Saturday. I like the looks and feel of them. Both were priced at less than $550. They were in two different gun shops. I have a Kimber Hunter, but I also love finely made, accurate .22 rimfire rifles. I Like Remington products, and may have to get one of these new rifles.
