357 mag vs. 45 colt

.357s are the easiest to get along with. maybe there not the best but as a genral carry gun its the best compramise. Easy to shoot, get ammo for, and carry. mostly lighter than a .44 or .45 and with .38s in it the only thing cheaper to plink with is probably a .22. I use a ruger gp100 ss 6" barrell. It'll shoot 3" groups at 100yrds  with 180gr LBTs GC'ed over a stout charge of H110 and leave a Ky sized whitetail laying there too. 8)

 I say if the 44mag is to much then the 45 Colt is also to much because it can be so much more than a 44mag with less pressures......

 :-) I suggest......

  Are you ready......

 Glock 20 10mm........ does everything the 357 can and more plus now a 15 round mag again. If you reload "WOW" ballistics and if you don't try Double Tap ammo which gives "WOW" performance in a factory package.

I carry either a Colt Delta Elite or Glock 20 in 10mm.
S/S Ruger Bisley Vaquero's in 45 Colt, or my Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull.

Thanks everyone for the replys.  It has really been appreciated, and seems that I have opened a topic which has found a range of opinions.  I think that my .357 purchase was a good idea, and also see a 45 colt in my future.
Once again, thanks.
