Looking for a gadget to hold spring down that enables rounds to be insterted into a MK II Magazine, instead of holding the spring down with ones thumb.

loon,
Cabelas carries those, but IMHO, they aren't worth the extra "something to get lost". But, then, I'm a machinist and the toughest part of me is the pads of my thumbs.

Had a friend, who many years ago, fabricated a little wooden button that had a hole drilled part way through one side that would fit over the Ruger magazine button. It is just large enough to make depressing the magazine spring comfortable. He said he sent one to Ruger and suggested they include one with every pistol. They ignored him. It works great.

Gregory...that wood block idea sounds great! Hmmm?
I'll have to get my 'old man' on that one. He can make anything out of wood...maybe a nice piece of cherry. That ought to make the guys at the range envious! HA!
Granted, I am not in any hurry at the range...but that button really sounds like a good idea. I love gadgets...as long as their not made out of plastic.
Thanks! ...Chris
