Extractor pin (?) and belted magnum ammo
« on: August 12, 2004, 07:25:44 AM »
Fellas,

I have an Encore rifle that currently wears a 7mm Mag heavy barrel.  I'm shooting Winchester Supreme Silver Ballistic tips out of it and getting great accuracy.  However, loading and unloading the ammo is giving me some problems.  The extractor is getting caught on the belt and not seating where it is supposed to.  I'm having to pull down on the extractor so I can slide the cartridge up to where the extractor can seat properly.  Doesn't matter much at the range, but in the woods it might.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

What would happen if you remove the extractor?  I know on a 209 x 50 barrel, you can remove the extractor and still get the 209 primer out with no problem.

Just a thought/question?
