Para Carry C6.45LDA
« on: August 12, 2004, 09:19:11 AM »
I took my new Para Carry (3" barrel & 6+1capacity) to the range today and put about a hundred rounds through it.  One load consisted of a 185 gr. Hornady XTP over 7.7 gr. of Unique.  That was manageable but something of a  handful just the same.  The other load was a 200 gr. Hornady XTP over 8.5 gr. of AA5.  That was a nice load and I want to shoot it over my Chrony to see just how much velocity it has.  If it makes 850 fps I'm going to use that for my regular load in this gun.  Just from my subjective evaluation I'm going to say it is a very accurate gun, someday soon I'd like to get to a benchrest and see what it can do for me.
The "DAO" trigger is kinda wierd.  There is a long "pull" with almost no resistance whatsoever and at the very end there's a "catch" and after applying about 5 lb. of pressure the hammer falls.  I forgot to check and see if the trigger had to be let out all the way after each shot or if I could hold it almost all the way back and still get the sear to release.  Next time.
This gun is essentially a chopped and channelled Commander, which I also own.  I'm going to like it, its VERY concealable.
