« on: August 15, 2004, 06:46:46 PM »
Howdy, been real good to the wife and was allowed a new toy. It's a 700 suzuki twin. rode in different terrain and climbed some hills.only 2 drawbacks so far. Seat wont stay fastened(couldnt have anything to do w/ 270 lbs sliding around on it.the 4 wd is electric and it seems to take a little bit to kick in is there anything that can be done to shorten up this time? got in some mud and im blaming getting stuck on the delay. hope you all have a goodun and keep riding and stay safe....bill

congrats on the new toy.  Now do something nice for your wife, she is a good one.   Not sure on improving the responce time on the electric 4wd button.  Getting stuck happens from time to time.  It may have more to do with the stock tires?  Does that Suzuki have a locking front differential?  Seems like it doesn't but not sure.  A front locker would surely help a good bit.    That is probably the same quad that atv tv had on Sat morning testing tires in the snow.  Enjoy.

good day sir, tires may have something to do w/ it . This is my first one so dont know a lot about them but far as digging they seem to do a pretty good job. yes mine does have a locking differential. Not too disappointed in it . I dont know of a vehicle yet that bottoms out that can move. I was riding in a dried up lake and the top looked dry but I got too close and next thing I know back wheels are digging in and I'm looking up. Lock in front ones and then I'm level just bottomed out. Got off of it to try to get out sunk up to the calf in mud and past my knees in water. had my boots resoled less than 5 months ago and pulled one of the soles off getting out. a buddy pulled me back about 6 feet and I was under my own power then. It was a learning experience if nothing else. You all have a goodun and keep riding....B
