well.... is one powder better than the others? does one of those powders clean up easier than others? do they burn the same? do you have to swab your barrel after every shot or is there a powder that burns cleaner?
Welcome burnt3d!
I really don't think one powder is better than the others, just different. The 777 is very easy to clean up and about 15% hotter than black powder or Pyrodex by volume. About 85 grains of 777 is equal to 100 grains of Pyrodex or black powder by volume. Although I have never used Swiss, I hear that it is one of the hottest black powders out there. The Goex Clear Shot is very low on the performance end and draws moisture to itself once fired and would be my last choice in powders. The American Pioneer Powder is the old Clean Shot, I have had pretty good luck with this powder but not my first choice either. Pyrodex loose powder and Pellets have both been very good powders in my experience. Black powder works well and has a good (indefinite) shelf life, but is messy and hard to clean up. 777 pellets are not reliable enough in the Huntsman in my experience, lots of hang-fires and you can't have that when shooting at game.
My first choice in powders is 777 loose powder. Very easy clean-up, less corrosive, and has the best performance in my experience. If you are shooting sabot's, you will want to swab between shots for best accuracy. If you want to shoot conicals you can usually get away with a lot more shots between swabbings.
