Cylinder for SBH Bisley
« on: August 21, 2004, 02:39:20 PM »
I have a SBH Bisley non-fluted .44 Mag.
My Cylinders are .433 which is to big.
Any know where I can get a Cylinder, short of sending it back to Ruger.

Why do you think 433 is too big?  A cylinder throat should be .001 to .003 larger than the bullet/bore, which yours just is.  It is probably within Ruger's specs and they would see no reason to replace it.

Flint:
My bore is ,429 and cylinders .433 - .004 differance.
From what I am being told is that the cylinders should only be .001
or less bigger than the cast bullet being fired.
The biggest bullet I found is .431 leaving .002 gap.
I have been told the accuracy will suck and I will get a lot of leading.
I have not fired any cast yet so I have no personal exsperiance.

hylander,
I really don't think that is going to make much difference in your accuracy.
If you are getting good accuracy out of your gun i wouldn't warry about it.
To tell you the truth i have never checked any of mine to see what the difference is,, Maybe i should but i'm afraid i might start worring about it .
Take care..........Joe.........
