loneeagle, I live in area 25, near Ray, and have been helping to bait these past 2 weeks. Bears are thick as flies... about 3 out of 4 baits are being worked steadily. Can't tell you the size, but last season about 60% of those harvested with the guide I use were "large" (210-310#). After having said that, this much activitity when the woods is full of natural food is strange. And our weather, though slightly colder than normal by a degree or two, doesn't explain the increased activity. And, the bear harvest last year was slightly above norms, also. A few believe that maybe Ontario bears are moving into this range due to over crowding to the North. They stopped their Spring hunt a few years ago and there's some that claim the bear population has grown to much.
