Yea, I need to get all my #2 hevishot shot up so I have room on the shelf for some of the new "B" hevishot waterfowl loads and the new "Dead Coyote" hevishot loads which are "T" sized pellets. Unfortunately I have 3 boxes of the #2's, that's alot of coyotes to find and shoot. So I might have to pick up some duck stamps and take to the water this fall and drop some ducks.
I'm really curious what would be the optimum size. The #2 hevishots are relatively small compared to BB and T shot, but there are so many of them and the hardness and retained velocity/force behind them penetrates very well. The BB and T shot would obviously penetrate deaper, but there are alot less pellets. Kind of like do you want 100 bigger pellets driving 90% through a coyote or 200 small pellets driving 70% through a coyote. Which would do more damage? Or is it a wash, dead is dead, both work, get whichever you gun patterns better?
Things that make you go Hmmmmmm.
