I don't know what to do or where to start be we need to do something about the "pistol permit" system in New York State. New York State is a
"discretionary state", meaning it's up to the "local issuer" as to who gets a "carry permit" and who doesn't. New York State also will not honor any other states permit. The State of Florida will honor any state's permit that will honor their's! Their are a lot of states out there that are like Florida.
We have to try to make New York State-1-
A shell issue carry concealed state. Most states are this way now.
2-
Enter into reciprocal agreements with other states. We honor their permits and they honor our permits. Again most states have agreements with other states, not New York, we don't honor anyone's permits but our own. Look at it this way. If you live in New York and work in Pennsylvania and you have a "permit" in NY, you can get a "permit" in PA. If you live in PA and work in NY and have a "permit" in PA your still "sh*t out of luck" in NY. This isn't far at all
3-
Issue nonresident permits. I don't know how many other states do this, but I just got my "Pennsylvania carry permit". I'll be working on Florida next. There are a lot of states that issue to nonresidents, they don't seem to have any problems with it!
Again, I don't know where to start. I'm sure you guys have other things you would like to change too, and thats fine. We really need to stick together and go after our politicians and make them see the light. I'd be willing to bet they think its ok for them to carry!
Go to
www.packing.org check out the laws other states have and you'll see New york is behind the eight ball!
