Herter's shell holder
« on: August 27, 2004, 06:18:58 PM »
I have an old Herter's Super #3 press.  I have had this press 35+ years and don't think it will ever wear out.  I am in dire need of a shell holder for the 223 Rem., I believe the Herter's number is #5.  I have located a company, Vega Tool, that makes replacements for them but was in hopes of finding an original cheaper.  Anyone know of a #5 for the old Herter's press?

Donaldo,
I don't think that the Vega Tool shell holders are overpriced. Their quality is excellant.
You're wise in checking the Web for one that may be in someone's "junkbox".
You can also get an adaptor from RCBS,to use one of their shell holders in the erter's tool.

Thanks Frank, I will check out that adapter at RCBS, but would still like to have an original #5 Herters.
