My trapping season may already be over.
« on: August 22, 2004, 06:50:03 PM »
Got flown to Billings Mt. 6 days ago for emergency surgery, just about took the dirt nap.The Doc had me on the table for several hours fixing important stuff the went bad. Also had a belly full of infection.I'm home now,got a belly full of staples and a weird tube hanging out of me.No lifting until December 1st.That about shuts down leg hold season for me.I had 8 lines set up. Was going to trap in2 states.I guess I'll get to snare some and Cat trap.
My wife asked me to teach her how to trap canines and cats this year. This makes me nervous as I think she'll be a better trapper than me.She has location down already and is much sharper on details. This will be an interesting fall.
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!

Wishing you a speedy recovery!  One bonus though, you'll have more time for a while to share your trapline knowledge and experiences here on the forum! Ace

coyotero,

I hope things are speedy and you will be back on your feet soon.  But don't be afaid to let the wife take over for the early season.  My wife can take over my line if something went bad.  And just think she is learning something that some day could save her life.

Coyotero,   I was just checking my email that I never get any of,
and saw that you were doing poorly!                                                       Dern!  {Thats a clean phrase incidently}  Good luck and all that,  but I am shocked!  Wow!   Take care of yourself, &  write!    Write!
No work at all,  rest up and heal up.  But when I was almost killed,           I just wrote about everything I have ever experianced.  Trapping, hounding, fishing, canoeing, cooking, horse storys, hound storys, my murder and how the three brothers who murdered me are all dead now!                      {Cheers me up a bit.}   Marksmanship, every dog, everything I could remember, and I have been workig on it for three years.                  Coyote man,
If I had your email address I would send some of some of  my storys,        My lliterary, works of all time!  So to speak.                                       Well..........   I like them anyway.

          I am   ranger@airmail.net             Every 3-4 hours eat!!!
All the time you are awake!!!!!!!!!

Hope you recover fast and healthy. Youll be trapping when the fur is at its prime, so maybe in the end you can get a better average over all
