which woul be better. I just bought a NEF sidekick 26" barrel and am looking for load recomendations for deer. I was told to use 295 grain Power belt bullet with 2 - 50 grain 777 pellets.

I use Powerbelts... GREAT!!!
If the breech plug has a reservoir type recess, as in the Huntsman.
I would advise 90gr powder 777. This is my own personal deal, after my initial viewing of my new Huntsman. It looked like the breechplug was made for powder!! I have had much success on whitetails using this combo... Never a second shot, and never a misfire hunting or on the range... That withstanding, there are plenty of folks who swear by the
2 pellets. = You're in a no lose situation...!

I too have a sidekick, I'm using loose 777 and it looks to me like the breach plug is made for loose powder although I'm no expert but it does appear that many people do have success with the pellets. frankly I just don't see any advantage to pellets even concidering convienence.

Another thing that works well for me while deer hunting, is to use a small
"trout fly" type, double sided poly box... vest pocket size. On one side keep bullets and powder. (I cut down the tubes, that pellets that I once used came in, so that they hold 90gr. 777). On the other side I keep
primers in holders, and accessories, eg: pick, small knife. For hunting you have everything needed for about 5 shots, in a 4x6x1.5" box.
Oh, another benefit in using Powerbelts, is that you never have to worry about snapping the brass extending rod, jamin' bullets down the muzzle.
