Wrapping lever
« on: August 12, 2004, 02:48:37 PM »
Hello to ya all,  :D
I just found this forum, and am happy to see there is a leather section. I have made many belts, holsters and billfolds and rifle slings. But I need some advice.

I want to cover the bottom of the lever on my Marlin 45-70 to keep from getting my fingers sore from recoil. I would like to know if there is a way to braid or make a nice looking laceing to cover this.

I have tried a plain wrapping, and it winds up kind of ugly, I am at a loss, so any suggestions are welcome, or links to a picture of one coverd.

Thanks
Mike

Welcome aboard :D   I have seen what you are talking about and here is a place with few patterns, including a lever wrap.  http://eightbits.home.att.net/
