is it still good?
« on: August 28, 2004, 08:42:14 AM »
We had our cabin burned down (looks like arson) and my 1/3 scale napoleon was inside!.
The fire was hot enough to melt aluminium.
The barrel is all thats left.
it has rust inside ( mostly ) and out.
what do you guys think?
is it salvagable? can I lash it to a tire (afer I remove the rust) and double charge it...extra long fuse...to see if shes still good?
Thanks

I don't think I would double charge it.  I wouldn't recommend that for a  a new gun.

I would bead blast the outside to clean it up and polish the inside and see if you have any pitting in the barrel.  You will also want to make sure the liner didn't break loose.

Probably should just have you bring it by the house and I'll  check it out.  Are you still down in Manassas?  I'm up in Herndon now.
