When was the .250 Savage introduced?

The latest Nosler reloading manual says the .250 Savage was introduced in 1913.   I"ve seen other souces including reloading manuals which identify its date of introduction as 1912, 1914 and 1915.  

Does anyone have any insight on the correct date?  Why is there so much disparity on this comparitively simple issue?

Advocate: my Nosler #2 differs from yours it states. Quote  Designed by Charles Newton in 1915 the 250 was introduced by Savage as a new round for its Model 99 lever action rifle.  And My speer # 8 gives a 1914 date several of my other books were burned up in a fire and lost but like you I have several that have diferent dates, maybe some day they will figure it out and we can come back and take a pencil and put the correct date in all of these old books, until then go figure I guess.   JIM

In Doug Murray's book "The Ninety-Nine 3ed edition, page 4-15, Quote: "Developed by the ballistician Charles Newton, and first chambered in the newly designed "250-3000 Savage Rifle" in 1914, this cartridge became the first standard factory round to exceed 3,000 feet per second velocity.  Known as the .250 Savage later on, it has the longest running production record of the Savage cartridges."
