Fishing trip
« on: July 10, 2004, 08:22:20 AM »
Wife and I just spent 5 days up at Jackson meadows (No. Calif) fishing and camping. Wife dosent fish but had a good time around camp. Would take the boat out around 7 a.m. and be back by 9-9-30 with a limit. Most were 3-5 lb browns or rainbows. Several times the "yuppies" that were getting ready to go out said "oh did you get skunked", we caught 2 small ones yesterday. I would pull my stringer up and all of a sudden they were in a hurry to leave the dock area. Plans are to go up to Bowman lake (No. Calif) for a couple of days, (couple miles past Jackson Meadows) shoundent have all the "yuppies" as they dont have paved parkways, running water or flush toilets. Its more on the primitive type with an old wooden vault type outhouse.  Also a lot of black bears, had to shoot one 2 yrs ago cause of it tearing up camp and becomming a threat. Ifin their are any "yuppies" their maybe will tell them Peanut Butter smeared on them will keep the bears away. :-D
Wife says she wont be going along as its a little rough in and out and her being disabled she would pass on this one.

I was trout fishing in the Black Hills of SD a couple weeks ago. It was so good that I am going back next week for a rematch. Lots of nice Rainbows in the 17 to 18 inch range along with a few nice browns. Monday next I am going to Devils Lake North Dakota on a walleye fishing trip. We should catch some good Northerns there as well.
shot placement is everything.
