8mm spire point problems

Im loading 150 gr. spire points for 8mm mauser.  the gun is a 98-22 BRNO chech.  This is the .323 dia.  Problem is no matter how I seat the bullets, they are very hard to chamber. brass gets a scrape on the side.  Thought maybe thease guns need a big round nose bullet? anybody know what my problem is? please help!  Thanks!

well I just checked out another bolt, and some factory round nose ammo, so its not my bullets or bolt.  any Ideas?

:idea2: A couple of things come to mind.  Cases too long or shoulder not set back far enough.  How does an empty case chamber?

Have you shot factory ammo?
If so did it do the same?


What is your trim length?
Are neck sizeing?
Full lenght sizeing?

My guess is that you need to full length size the bass. If you are, set your size die so it knocks back the shoulder a little more. Your rifle doesn't care or know what bullet your stuffing in it. Just need to make sure your bullet isn't hitting the lands.

Turne out to be a tiny burr right on the edge of the chaimber. dont know how it got there but its gone now. shoots fine. Thanks for the replies!

Gallahad,

Had a similar problem with mine!  Chamber had a burr at the 6'oclock position.  I figure it had happened when someone sometime was shooting steel jacketed bullets cause the burr was right where the tip entered the chamber.
