While I can't speak from any personal experience about the pistol rounds, I can about the bullet. I used the .45 cal. variety for deer last year out of my .50cal muzzleloader to harvest two deer. One was about 10yds. away, and the other was about 35yds. away. Both only needed one shot apiece, and while skinning, both had massive internal damage, with an exit hole about the size of a fifty cent piece. One of the deer had an entire flank bloodshot, with the wound around the shoulder area. I couldn't recover either bullet, as they were both complete pass-throughs, but after looking at the extent of damage done, I would highly recommend them, and plan on using them again this year. I also would suspect that the .44 caliber bullet will work just as well as the .45. Hope this helps.
