I have been loading for a Savage bolt action for a long time now, and have found the 125-130g bullets work ok. My wife uses them most of the time, but I like the 150's better. Her load is 125g Rem PSP, Dominion cases, Win primer and 37.5g of H335, for a velosity of 2560 fps. I went as far as 38.5g and got a velosity of 2650-2700, with no preasure signs, but the group opend up. One thing I have found with the .30-30, is the brass varies a lot in weight, and thus effects velosity and preasure a lot. I have shot a few coyotes, and my wife quite a few whitetails with the Remington 125g psp, but I think the 150g bullets traveling at 2400 fps will give better performance on a tougher shot. Good luck.
