Need help on Contender Grip?
« on: September 17, 2004, 05:09:52 AM »
Does Pachmayer still make a grip for the Contender?
I'm looking for a used one, but will purchase a new if needed.  Any of you know what wholesalers stock this item?
Thanks!
Ernie

Contender Grip

Hello XPHunter,

I'm assuming we're talking older style Contenders here and not the G2.

Go to: http://www.midwayusa.com/ and type "Contender grip" into the "Search for" box.  I saw both Presentation and Gripper types available when I did it, although there were only a few of each in stock.  $39.98 for either style - pricey. . .but available.  Try Midsouth and Natchez also, they may have what you want.

I hope this is helpful.

If I had a dollar for every time I wanted another Contender or Encore, I'd have about $855,627,452,918

Hi
They make(made) two different  grips a presentation and a gripper with finger grooves.  I have an extra of either, if you want a used one.

Javelina & jimann,
Thanks for the info and the quick response.

jimann,
I think I would prefer the presentation if I had a choice.  I'm interested.
E-mail me at ernie33@sbcglobal.net  for the price of your extra grip.

If it doesn't work out I have the old original one that works on the "pre-
Easy Open frames" and a newer finger groove that works on everything but a G2. Make offer...........

Are some of these used ones that you guys have the standard rubber or the Decelerator version?
Just bought me a Contender (Boy, that will shock some).  Hadn't owned one since 1988.  Well, what can I say, some of us are just real slow.

Ernie - I'm at work and don't recall as it has been years since I set up my Contender with either one (and I have CRS). I will let you know.

Thanks Steve that would be the affliction. Anyway I believe the newer of the two I have is the Decellerator model and I did drill the bottom plate and install a sling stud in it.

Is the Decelerator the presentation or the gripper style?
Which of the two has the largest/flatest bottom?

I have an extra rynite grip.  Find out what they sell for and you can have it for that less 10% and I will pay the shipping.  Send me an email to set it up.
