What is the difference in these primers? Only ones I can buy here in motreal. Federal-209A, Winchester-W209, Cheddites-209, CCI-209.
This is the selection I have,which one is the best as far as accuracy and reliability? I shoot T7 pellets up to 150grs PRdead centers from 200 to 300grains.

The only primers that I will use for my T/C Encore are the Winchester. The Winchester primers are formed witha steel cup and will lift out reliably with the Encore extractor. Other makes of primers that use a copper cup will expand to tighten inside the breechplug when they are fired. And the extractor will ride up and over the soft copper without lifting the primer, leaving the primer trapped underneath the extractor and very difficult to remove. This is no something you need to happen on a hunt!

The Winchester 209 primers were all I used before I switched to the 25ACP conversion.

This happens quite a bit to me with my 209x50 bullberral.
Alot of the times it has more to do with the way I open the barrel after firing. If i snap to open the extractor will ride over the primer if I Open it slow the problem is reduced about 90%. I find that my problem is that the breach plug is a Little on the large side and when the fired primer expands it win cock and wedge in. I always carry a small knife with me in my bag (will be getting a 209 extractor tool soon) I close the barrel a little to take pressure off the primer and use the knife to "pry" the primer out

one time when hunting I shot 1 of 3 does close to my stand the other 2 just stood looking at the one that I hit. I opened the barrel and the extractor rode over the primer. long story made short :-D I was able to remove it load the barrel and get off a second shot in very short order.

I do not have the extractor in my gun. I use Winchester pirmers and just flip them out with my fingernail.

I know several people that do the same thing. It works great for them.

I've fired hundreds of rounds through my Encore and have never had any trouble with the primers sticking, after firing!
I have used steel, copper and aluminum cased primers and not had any trouble!

When I open the action and tip the rifle, the primer will fall out on it's own!
I don't even have to touch it!

If the extractor on your rifle rides up-and-over the primer, I would contact TC if I were in your place!

As already stated, many people remove the extractor and after they fire the rifle, they just pick the primer out with their fingernail!
I have an E-Z TIP Extrator on my Encore!

I had one of those E-Z Tip Extractors. It broke at the joint on the very first shot. Fox Ridge refunded my money plus all shipping charges.

I use the fingernail also, but found it best to pop out primer right after the shot. Seems like it's harder to remove after powder residue cools.

Pay close attention if you use Federal 209 primers in your ML. The center of the primer is sunk in farther than the Winchesters. I was having a misfire about once out of every 6 or 7 shots.. Firing pin was not reaching the primer and was making a much shallower dent..
Just something to check out if you're having misfires with Federal primers.

i used cci primmers for 6 years because they had a waterproof coating on them .but the last case of them didnt have the coating. it always rains during muzzy season here and i hunt out of a boat witch dont help the problem i even used to put the primers in my mouth till i put the powder out of a quick loader in and seated the bullet.does any of the other brands have a coating???ive poured water out of my berrels and never had a missfire with the old cci but i wont try this with the uncoated ones.
