I just bought some of these for .44-40 from Cabelas. I only got 200, because I was unfamiliar with them. I load smokeless (5.0 Gr. Bullseye), so a good crimp is important when shooting in tubular magazine rifles. These bullets have NO crimping groove, and a very small lube groove. I do use a Lee "Factory Crimp" die and because these bullets are quite soft (they're labeled as "Cowboy" and I can cut them with a fingernail) I'm pretty sure they will withstand the pounding of cycling through a magazine, but I haven't tested them yet.
Anybody else tried them?
