Been measuring several brands, and came to some weird conclusions.

But I really need to get some more theoretical data before fully understanding this amzing cartidge...

Can someone help me out with the next:

COAL (.975

)
Length of the brass [=height of the rim (=?), +height of the actual cylinder(=?) )]

Length of the bullets, and seat-to depth

externa diameter of the brass, and the inside diameter

Perhaps even the average length and standarddeviation or variance of a certain brand?

You might want to dig up the SAMMI specs on the cartridge.

It seemed they're not readily available on the internet?

If anybody could help me out with this, I tried google and www.saami.org , but couldn't find any helpful information...

From Roy Dunlap's Gunsmithing:
maximum cartridge
COAL- 1.00
LENGTH OF BRASS-.613 includes rim
RIM THICKNESS-.044
EXTERNAL DIAMETER-.226 CYLINDER
RIM DIAMETER-.278
BULLET DIAMETER.2255

Expect that various makes differ slightly. Chambers, of course, are another matter. Hope this helps.
