Did you spring for the well-made, big bucks belt and holsters or start off which a more utilitarian outfit?

I've got my first set of lined holster and single layaer belt.  Been thinking of getting a new set just because with my shooting skills I've got to go for the "style points."

Started CAS in 91 and used el Cheapo Hunter leather from Cabela's.  Used them for more than half my time in CAS and retired them when I made my own leather.  Not fancy, but not as "plain" as the Hunter gear.  Good enough for me.  :-)

In the same ballpark as Singing Bear......my first leather was from Cabela's (Oklahoma Leather) and very reasonable.  Have since "upgraded" to a fancier rig, but you know what?  It doesn't make my pistols shoot any better or straighter.......actually those old days on a "cowboy budget" were kind of fun!

When we started in CAS, I was looking for someone who made fat gunbelts. None of the cheapo models fit me. I ended up ordering a belt and holsters from Dave LaFlair at Cochise Leather. I was so happy with Dave's stuff that Lorelei ended up ordering hers from him also. We're still using the same gunleather! (although I have had to shorten my gunbelt somewhat. My diet is working!!!)
