just got this link from Gray Beard himself. and man is there a wealth of good info here!. I have a 5 yr old win1300 12ga, did make some changes tho it came with a smooth bore, i shot it a few years and took a few deer, with the smooth bore it really liked the rem slugger out to 75yrds. changed to a rifled barrel got it thru win for about $150.00 and also went to a syn M-16 style stock and fore arm. the pistol grip gives me a more stable platform, i had a bad problem with rolling my wrist, got that thru gun accessories.com for about $75.00. topped it off with a bushnell dawn to dusk 4x fixed scope, tried a whole mess of different brand shells. it will shoot the rem copper solids ok but it gets an occasional fly away. tryed the light fields and couldn't hit paper, went to win bri 2 3/4and now i swear by them, it will split holes at 75 yrds and 1 1/2 groups at 100 yds plus. Belive me i kept the wood stock and fore arm, man it sure is pretty wood. I know i tied up some bucks on this gun but im really happy with this set-up, talked a buddy into getting one, he went to Wally world and got pretty much the same set-up for $325.00.
Sorry for the long note, just wanted to give a little back ground, by the way this set-up has taken 14 deer total so far.
