why won't the G2 45 caliber BP barrel fit a contender frame?
any safety issues?
is it as simple as grinding off the pin?

cknight98,

ok if that is the case based on a safety issue, why do so many custom barrel makers chamber more powerful cartridges than tc?  I have been shooting a 250 Savage SSK barrel since '88 with no frame problems.  is gonic's or virgin valley's 209x45 barrels not safe for my frame? Could it be something other than a safety issue? Marketing? sales? I can't figure out there reasoning. thanks for your input.

I saw another poster mention this once and it caught my attention.  I have no idea whether or not it is true.  The statement was made about Gonic having a patent on the muzzle loader barrel for the old Contender.

now that makes sense....one of the few things in all this that does...I am not sure how to check the validity of it but it would be a logical answer why everyone avoided  making the BP contender barrel. thanks
