TC 22 magazine?
« on: September 11, 2004, 01:27:21 PM »
Hi, was wondering if anyone here would happen to own or know where I could get a blueprint of a TC 22 magazine that holds 30rounds or more?

I assume your speaking of the TC 22 autoloading rifle.  I've never seen that large a magazine for the TC rifle as it was introduced during the high capacity magazine ban..  That ban and the entire assault weapons(sic.) ban is set to sunset next week.  Since there was never a magazine of that capacity made I doubt there is any chance of a blueprint.   Even without the ban the companies would most likely NOT hand out blueprints.  One might reverse engineer one but none have ever been made.........  Wait a few weeks, perhaps some will be made.

Yes I'm speaking of the TC 22 autoloading rifle.
The reason why I'm checking into this matter is cause I just bought "The .22 machine pistol" by Bill Holmes and on page 9 he says
Quote from: Bill Holmes
A suitable magazine for this gun is available (at the time of this writing) from Gun Parts Corparation, West Hurley, New York. The company calls these "Universal" magazines. They are used in Thompson .22-caliber guns as well as number of others

While he's talking about the Lower Receiver he mentions the mags again
Quote from: Bill Holmes
The magazines I have on hand measure .450 to .460 inch thick. The flanges should measure .230 inch from the inside

The only refrence to a Thompson .22-caliber magazine is the Thompson Center Arms magazine

The magazines in question are not Thompson/Center they are Thompson as in the Thompson sub machinegun. Numrich arms/Gun parts used to handle all the parts for Thompsons I dont know if it is still true.

TC is thompson/center.  They produce the Contender and encore pistols and quite recntly the TC autoloading rifle in 22 LR.  The Thompson you refernce is the Thompson submachine gun.  the last iteration of the submachine gun was a semi auto only, produced by AutoOrdinance.  They were available in several calibers, perhaps the 22rimfire was one?  GunPartsCorp has an online webstore and a search engine.  If that's the magazine you wish to buy they should be able to help.  I'll insert the link below.  When AutoOrdinance went bankrupt GunParts bought huge stocks of surplus parts. They regularly buy magazines and parts guns.  Perhaps a call to the offices might find a mag they have a couple of but not enough to catalog..

gunnut69: I've been browsing their site since friday, but unable to find a .22 Thompson SMG mag, but however I found a 30rnd AR7 mag, they look very similar to the ones In the book, I will most likely end up building the weapon then design a magazine for it.
