Comanche III?
« on: August 30, 2004, 10:18:55 PM »
I own Taurus, Rossi, and S&W revolvers.  I'm looking for an inexpensive stainless steel revolver with 6" barrel for a boat gun.  How does the quality of the Comanche III compare tp the Taurus, and Rossi?  I see them going for under $200 NIB on Gunbroker.  Your input is appreciated.

Isn't the Comanche made by RG of Germany? If that's the case there is very little steel in it to rust. Guess that would qualify it for a boat gun! Those RGs that I have seen qualify as junk. I think a stainless steel Rossi would be ideal. The internal parts would still need to be flushed with CLP ever now and then to prevent it from rusting up and freezing the action. The marine environment is tough on guns!

The comanche revolvers are made in South America by llama. I have never had one but from what I have read they are pretty good for the money.

:o  :o Well, I had one that was a .357 three inch and it shot well. It could have used a trigger job as it was a tad heavy but would serve as a casual shooter..cbagman     OOPS. The 3 incher I had was an Astra .357 not a Commanche so I cannot speak about them..  cbagman
