Cast Bullets in the Huntsman?

Anyone casting their own bullets for use in the their Huntsman? I've been casting bullets for my 30/30 and thought it would be great to also use them in my Huntsman. I don't want to use a Minie bullet but a sub-caliber pistol or rifle bullet and a sabot.

I was thinking about trying out Lee's .44 cal C430-310-RF.



I think this bullet would just the ticket for whitetail.

If you are using them, what are you using? Sized or unsized and what sabot? What are you casting them with pure lead or an alloy?

I cast for my huntsman. I cast the lee 429 240 drain round nose. I do not have to size them. I shoot them in a green hornady sabot and they work werr. I went with the 429 so I would not have to size. I also mold the 429 in a 200 grain flat nose. Both have worked well, but, I prefer the 240. And since I use the 429 they load quite easily which saves the stress on the ramrod.  I shoot 100 grains of pyrodex rs loose in my sidekick with the 240 grain and have had great luck.  I hope this helps

I cast a lyman 45-70 bullet that weights 330gr and is a hollow point I size them to 452di and put them in a black sabot they are good shooters and work well on deer.
