Does anyone know if Mowrey has a web site?  I can't find one.  Or could you point me to a site where Mowrey rifles are available?

You can go to the web site by typing union creek muzzleloading into your browser window. They have a full selection of Mowreys.

excop to xcop to xcop,

There is also Cleer creek trading that has both Mowrey and H & A rifles.  I believe that they come as put together kits but am not sure.

By the way, did you hear about the new federal law reguarding xcops and concealed weapons?  I always found it hard to get a lyman plains pistol in a shoulder holster.

Thanks for the infromation everyone.  I put my hand cannon away a few years ago when I retired.  Twenty four years of lugging one of those things around every day was enough for me.  Now I just carry a smokepole for fun.

The Mowrey is made by Deer Creek Products. P.O. box 246, Waldron, Indiana 46182.  Phone (765) 525-6181.  Clear Creek Trading et al get them from these folks.  They are sold as a "fully assembled kit", in the white.  Call them, get their catalog.  My experience with them has been very good.  They bought the barrel machine from Douglas when that company dropped the black powder line, and I have heard very good things about them.  On the other hand, I saw one message where the person thought they put out junk, but someone else here had a post of the fine Deer Creek rifle they put together and they really liked it.

Enough.  Hope this helps.

I just put together a Deer Creek  H & A for my wife.  I thought it a darn good value for the cost.  Havn't shot it yet though.

Mowrey Actions
« Reply #11 on: September 15, 2004, 04:29:46 AM »
I guess I just got real lucky last Saturday when my Lady came in from her Yardsailing. She said that She saw two of those "metal thingy dooes" that are on our favorite rifles for sale at a yard sale. I spit up my coffee and jumped out of my chair and started to look for my shoes. I asked how much and she said they were $3.00 each. I was in a panic looking for my shoes and asking where and when. Got my shoes on and was headed out the door with her in tow when she produced a bag with two Mowrey actions in it. They are the steel actions one with a broken main spring and a the other a broken sear. Talk about luck. I will have me two more for sure. Tryit.
