So long for now
« on: September 19, 2004, 01:54:50 PM »
Hey guys,

We have decided to cut back on some expenses at my household and I am sad to say, the Internet access is one of them :( .

I want to tell you all that I have never met a finer bunch of gentlemen whether just shootin' the bull, giving/receiving advice, or asking for help in prayer. It pains me to have to do this, but sometimes sacrifice is necessary.

This is no means a permanent goodbye. I plan on setting up access at my parents' house to keep in touch. It will take me more time to respond, that's all.

Ya'll take care of yourselves. Enjoy your hunting, reloading, accurizing, casting, and above all, shooting.  I'll be seeing you all real soon.

Sincerely,

Jeff Coltrane Davis

Coltrane buddy, we will all miss you and Miss Mollie also. My prayers will stiill be with you both. I am glad to hear that you will still be able to keep in touch through the secondary connection at your parents home. Best of luck to you and the entire family, we will always be here for you and with you, and thanks for the fellowship....<><....

Coltrane,
Right back at ya with the compliments.  I'll keep you in my prayers for the finances part.  It's nice to see a family with their priorities.  This access is an extra we sometimes convince ourselves is a necessity.

Hopefully soon you'll be im a position that you wont have to think twice.

Don't know how much you pay, but there are some of the services offered prett cheap.  Just a thought.

Sorry to see ya go.   As Handi said, there are some pretty cheap services out there (dial-up, but still better than nothing), but I know that sometimes money is too tight for even that. Good luck man, and hopefully you'll be back online soon.

Best wishes to you and the family Coltrane.  Another possibility is free internet access at your local library.  We'll pray that the money situation improves for you.

Why don't you try one of the free (limited hours) services like NetZero?

Those are virtually all gone now.   NetZero (despite the name) isn't free anymore.  It's $9.95 for their regular access, or $14.95 for their rip-off "high speed" access.  All the high speed access is is a compressed connection.  If you know anything about data compression, you'll know that generally on the text on the web (and hence just the raw HTML) will be compressed. All the images and files come accross at the same speed as regular (or sometimes slower due to compression overhead).  It laughable when they try to compare their goofey "high speed" connecton to a real DSL or Cable connection.

Jeff Davis,

You three are still in my prayer for protection (and Molly's healing) at breakfast.     Maybe the Lord is removing a distraction from you for a while.     My suggestion to profit from the free time:  'chase' momma, and spend quality time with Molly.

Take care,
