Ruger 10/22 .920 Barrels
« on: August 29, 2004, 03:32:36 AM »
Who makes these barrels? I see them marketed under Adams & Bennett and Butler Creek. Eabco I believe sells the Butler Creek and claim 1/2 groups at 50 yards. Are there any differences between these two makers? Who is more accurate? Anybody else making these barrels? How do they stack up?

http://www.volquartsen.com/  has very acurate barrels and a lot of options
http://www.magnumresearch.com/Browse.asp?Category=MagnumLite%3ABarrels  good barrels very light
green mountian and shilen are also good ones to look at.

i put together a ultra light hunting rig using a ruger action a hogue stock magnum research barrel ron power triger and hammer kit and a 1in gilmore red dot sight it pops 1/2 groups no problem and is so easy to carry most of the time dont even use the strap.

go with the A&B Barrel it going to be better then the BC barrel. You can also look into the Green MTN barrel.

hey
of the two mentioned i have heard better things about the adams&bennett barrels  butler creeks dont have a good rep for accuracy from what ive read about them especially the carbon fiber tensiones barrels

i have a green mountain 20 in .920 fluted barrel on my custom 10/22
and it will shoot the ass off of a nat to 75 yds  great barrels  you might check them out at natchezss.com they run about $90-125 depending
and green mountain will stand behind any barrel of thiers if you have any issue with it at all  highly doubtful you will though!!

I have had terrible luck with Butler Creek barrels.  Didn't or sloppy fit and accuracy that wasn't up to what one would expect.  Adams & Bennett barrels are much better but I went with Green Mountain barrels for all my Ruger rifles, both 10/22's and 77/22's.  Accurate, always fit and look great.  Lawdog
