I had my m77 in 280 remington floated and bedded but when you tighted the tiger gaurg screws ,the floor latch will not go up to release when you press it.Can a smith put something in the screww holes as a filler to make it work ,you have to leave the screws loose for it to work right. Your opinions are welcome.
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

The barrel'd action has not been re-set into the stock properly, I would think.....and the bedding job may have been done wrongly.   I had a Ruger that could be temperamental, but it would work properly if I took my time re-assembling it.    The magazine has to be properly re-set into the action and stock, too, if all will fit properly.

take your time, and good luck.

Did it do this when you first got it nack or did you take it down and it stopped working.  If it wasn't locking from the smith he needs to get it back to fix.  The angled front screw on the M77's makes bedding a bit of a chore but that lock has to work and should be fairly solid..  Let the guy fix his error.  they can be a little tempermental to reassemble also, especially when tightly bedded.
