Firts time advice for dad...
« on: December 04, 2004, 09:16:55 AM »
Due to a problem with Dad's upper arm( rotator cuff) as well as a fatty tumor, Dad is getting a crossbow permit .

He talked with someone who has a permit and they advised that the best crossbow on the market is Excalibur. He was asking all kinds of questions such as the best. Compound or recurve?

I am glad that others have posted similar questions, but what other advice would you give to a newbie to the world of crossbows?Thank you.

First off Excalibur is the best choice, an Exocet is the best overall and all around hunting recurve crossbow. It will take down any game animal in North America
My suggestions for accessories would bea varizone scope 2.5 x 4 power , a rope cocking aid, stringer  and 1/2 doz bolts that come in an accessery kit or separatley.

They have the best prices and ship world wide.
You can get them to change the maxzone scope for a varizone.

Digger pretty well said it all, other then I would get a crankaroo to cock it with as you dad has a bad upper arm( rotator cuff) as well as a fatty tumor. He could also get a TenPoint acur-draw installed by Dan Miller if he did not like the crankaroo.
