Traditions 209 Tracker

Has anyone here tried the Traditions 209 Tracker rifle? The book says it will handle a 150 grain charge. Scheels has them for 99.00. I was wondering if anyone has tried this one?

some good, some bad. scroll through the old posts, been lots of discussions on the proof testing of spanish barrels. they are not proofed to more than 90-100 gr, even though the " book " says otherwise. remember, you get what you pay for.

I bought one at Gander Mountain for $99.00. Took the "cheap" open sights off (Traditions sent me free "plug" screws for the holes) and mounted a scope on it. I can shoot 2" groups all day long at 150yds with it. I shoot the 245gr Aerotip Powerbelt Bullet in front of 2 - 50gr 777 pellets ignited with a Winchester 209 Primer. Chrony's at 1650fps.  Don't load it with more than 100grs because of the 24" barrel.  Need more barrel to burn more powder. I live in a shotgun only state (no center fire rifles) although we can use muzzleloaders and handguns. Can't get that kind of performance out of a slug gun. I really like and will probably get a T/C Omega. Although for an extra $300.00 it won't perform any better.
