Barrel prices needed, 41 mag, 357 mag, 45 Win Mag
« on: January 16, 2003, 08:31:32 AM »
I've been asked to sell these barrels by the wife of a friend-he had a cellar full of gun stuff. I don't know prices, and need fair prices to ask.
All are new, all are 10" with sights:
41 Mag bull (2)
45 Win Mag Bull
357 Octagon (2), with 6 holes for recoil reduction at the ned of the barrel ? and a screw-on extension with a hex? shaped hole? I think this is to break open shot capsules, but don't know. It screws off anyway.
Any help would be appreciated. I want to ask a FAIR price so she gets what's FAIR.
Thanks;
joe b.

Joeb,
Go over to e-bay and get your prices. condition makes a difference on what you can get.

Joeb,
E-bay generally has prices.... look at buy it now. you can also go to
http://www.edstc.com/edstc/contender.html and have a look see
If they are in mint or very good condition they are probably worth 150 give or take 10 to 25 bucks.

:D  I will pay you $135 for one of the 41 mags (either have removable front sight?) plus shipping to 98390.  Would be will to go up to $150 if that front sight comes off.

This is about the going rate for 10" barrels.  some go a little more.  some
a little less.  The 357 hotshot barrel may bring $125 - 135.

Can't stay out of this one. The prices these guys have given you are what I look to pay for a used barrel. However, you may want to check a local gun shop and/or sporting goods store in your area.(not Walmart, or a chain store that sells sporting goods). E-bay tends to pull a little higher prices as well. In fact I've seen a few barrels sell on there for more than a brand new one costs! I know you are looking for set prices, but if I drive a few hours north in PA, the prices go down.(of course that area just got running water).  I don't know if the fact that some of those calibers are no longer factory issue makes a difference or not?

Be easy on me GB - you mentioned the.30 Herrett as one of your favorites - there may be hope for us yet ! :lol:

Just call Ed of Ed's TCs. Click on his banner on this forum at top for contact info.

Ed will buy them all and pay a fair price but realize not as much as an individual will since he has to make a profit. BUT if you just want to know the value to ask for them ask Ed that and he will shoot straight with you and give you the price he would charge if he had them. He sells them by the thousands so his advice is good advice. that's my advice.

Thanks for the help. Also, I quickly learned that this ain't the place to sell anything. I've been dickered with to death. Nickled and dimed. I put them on auctionarms.
Thanks to the helpers;
