243 swift scirocco bullets, anybody use 'em?
« on: September 23, 2004, 01:33:17 PM »
I am looking for a good deer bullet for my 243 Win.  I saw that swift is making the scirocco in a 90gr. 243.  Has anyone loaded or shot any.  I will be shooting it in a Ruger MK77MkII target rifle.  Any suggestions on loads would be appreciated.  Thanks
Beware of the man with only one gun, He likely knows how to use it.

I haven't tried the Scirocco...but I only have one deer rifle...1980 vintage Ruger in .243...If you want a "harder" bullet...I've had good success with the 100gr Remington Core Lokt....100 gr Federal Nosler Partition and the 100gr Hornady...all of these will give a good exit hole with a center lung shot...About 3 yrs ago I switched to the Federal 85gr BTHP where longer (over 200yd) shots might occur....I'd shoot whatever gives the best group...flintlock
