Kudos to T/C
« on: September 30, 2004, 05:00:13 AM »
Just a few words to express my opinions on T/C. If all manufacturers had a warranty as good as Thompson and stood behind it as they do, I might think about buying another brand. Thompson has always put out a reliable, quality product with the best guarantee (bar none) in the firearms business. I have a personal preference to the Contenders over the Encore, although I have Encores also. The personnel are always helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help out with any problem. My thanks to Thompson Center Arms. :D

Actually there are others in the industry who like TC bend over backward to take care of their customers. But you're right TC sure is up there at the top of the heap in doing it. I've had them replace things for me that were clearly mine fault and just plain not covered under warranty. It is their customer care not warranty at such times. They do take care of their customers.

Yup, sent in a frame for a replacement ball and spring on the old hammer safety and in two weeks, got a brand new frame! The shop owner that sent it in for me almost fell off his chair when we opened it together. He sold it to me for $75, including the shipping costs since it might be a costly repair.

I inherited an old model T/C 44/410. The hammer would not stay cocked. I sent it to T/C telling them that if it couldn’t be repaired with original parts to send it back I’d hang it on the wall. Well after about a month I began to worry that my old T/C would came back as a new safety package, refinished shooter. 37 days after I sent it I received it back with a hand written note from a “smith” who signed his name as George. George apologized for taking so long. He told me that he had been going through the “bench boxes” in the shop looking for original parts for my new old gun. Told me except for the finish the gun was like it first left the shop. Cost NO CHARGE. They could have just closed that box and sent it back with me being none the wiser. Good people.
