Howdy,

I am looking at handloading 150gr. Remington core-lokts in 280 at about 2850-2900fps.  I was wondering what are y'alls experiences with this particular bullet at 280 velocities on whitetails.  I appreciate the replies.  Thanks.

Hi, I use this same load (factory) in my NEF Handi Limited Edition and it is devastating on Whitetails and hogs. You're in very good hands for that job. They are loaded factory to 2,890 in a standard barrel but it gets 2,925 in my 26 " barrel. Performance is, for the most part, exactly like a .30-06 in the same bullet weight. I've killed 3 hogs and two deer with it so far since I bought it and all were one shot kills and all bullets exited. Exit holes were mostly golf ball size. One neck shot deer exited a little larger. You should be very, very happy with the performance.
