Anti ATV article.
« on: September 17, 2004, 05:00:18 AM »
The local liberal news rag The Houston Press ran an article about the Spring Creek area, and attempts to turn a 10 mile section into some kind of permanent sanctuary attacks a long time ATV Park.   The words of one of the often quoted "experts" is the type of dribble that often comes from anti's.

I tell you one thing that all ATV enthusiast should be worried about, and that is John Kerry. Unfortunately he does not support OHV areas and wants to shut down thousand and thousand of acres of public land to OHV's. If people like him have their way there will be no OHV riding areas for our children.

mark all I can say is take heed and get the atver's in the state organized because you are in for one hell of a fight to keep what you have.  And sports people that say I just want to use it for hunting also beware because they will stop you to. Beleif me another thing that will factor in is that the nose disturbs the game and the quit of their walk with nature.

You are both absolutely right!  John Kerry we already know is a liar, and he is anti, the things we love most.  Pretty soon, they will find a way to regulate the use of our own privately owned land.   There are some groups in Texas already organized, but will they come to the aid of the Spring Creek ATV Park?   I hope so.

This is something that should be posted on HighLifter Mark. If you want I can post it if you are not logged on there. People need to know about these kinds of things and there are a lot of supporters there.

Mark, where I live they did write a enviro. law in such a way that it did regulate what you could do on your private land with a atv. It was turned over the following year only because the of the stink that farmers and other industries raised.  The people setting in the deciding chairs only listen to the loudest squeal whether they be misleading or not.  Our deciding folks were showen pics. from canada and other states as prof of what was happening here and they did not know the difference, not that you could tell by a pic. in the woods.
I can't say strong enough how important it  is to organize and get people talking to their represenstatives.
