I have a super 16 45/70 w/ brake and a Super 14 375 JDJ w/ brake. The 375 has a sharper recoil than the 45/70, but both are very managable. If you have problems, you can use light loads and work up to heavier loads as you become less sensitive to the gun. Hornady makes a 220 gr FP that you can load pretty light. With that bullet and a light load, it's nothing like the 45/70. But you'll probably require heavier loads if you plan to shoot game. Depends what you want to do with it.
